Harm Reduction Supplies by Mail

Who we are and what we do

NEXT is an online and mail-based harm reduction program. We formally operate in New York, Michigan, California, Oklahoma, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Nevada. If you live outside of these states you may qualify to receive a ONE-TIME PACKAGE of harm reduction supplies by mail.

We believe everyone should have access to the tools they need to keep themselves safe and well.
If you qualify for a one-time package we will mail the supplies you would be able to access at an in-person syringe exchange program, including sterile syringes, smoking supplies, naloxone, tourniquets, alcohol pads, cottons, and condoms, as well as educational materials about safe injection and harm reduction.

If you have family or friends who you think should carry naloxone, please refer them to nextdistro.org/naloxone where they can become a trained opioid overdose responder and get intramuscular or intranasal naloxone mailed to them.

NEXT DISTRO ONE-TIME PACKAGES

We are working to expand our syringe access program to other states. If you do not live in one of our operating states, you may request a ONE-TIME package here. If you have previously received a one-time package, we unfortunately cannot send a follow-up. You can always request more naloxone at nextdistro.org/naloxone.

Please note: NEXT does not enroll individuals who live within the vicinity of a syringe access program. Please check nasen.org/map to learn if there is a program near you. Many agencies are now providing contactless delivery.

1. To determine if you qualify for a one-time package please complete our application process.
Filling out this enrollment application does not guarantee you will be approved. Please understand that because we are not funded to operate in your state, NEXT is unable to send supplies to everyone who requests them.

Our enrollment application asks sensitive health questions. Please do not put your name or any identifying information on this application, including your address, email, or telephone number.

You will be asked to choose a handle. It should be something that cannot be linked back to you. The handle ensures the answers you provide on the form remain anonymous during submission.

2. After you complete the enrollment application you will be asked to submit your handle and contact information via a separate url. This will go into a secure database. If you do not complete this step, we will not know how to reach you. Please be sure to use the same handle on both the application and contact forms.

3. We will reach out to you within 5 business days about the status of your application, using the contact information you provided. While we wish that we could include everyone in our program, our capacity to accept new applicants is limited. If you are offered a one-time package, you will receive an email or text message with a link to the order form.

4. After you place your order, it may take up to two weeks to ship to you. Orders come in discreet, unmarked packaging. You may request tracking to be sent to you via our third-party shipping software when you place your order.

It is important to remind you that we do not have a formal agreement to operate in your state. This means that the supplies we mail may put you at legal risk. In partnership with the Network for Public Health Law, NEXT has published a comprehensive overview of laws in your state surrounding syringe, naloxone, and paraphernalia: nextdistro.org/policies. We strongly suggest you read through your state’s laws. NEXT is unable to provide legal protection if you are arrested or charged for syringe, naloxone, or paraphernalia possession.

We highly recommend downloading the free, encrypted messaging app Signal on your phone to communicate with anyone about drugs or drug use. Read more about Signal and communication privacy here.
